Assistant Market Manager
The Foothill Farmers' Market Association (FFMA) is seeking to hire one or more persons as Assistant Market Managers to assist with operations of one or more Certified Farmers' Markets operated in greater Placer County, a geographic range extending from the valley/foothill communities to the Tahoe area.
A Certified Farmers' Market is an area designated by a county Agriculture inspector in which California farmers may sell crops of their own production directly to the public without a middleman or wholesaler. Certified Farmers' Markets are the only place – other than their farm – where farmers can sell directly to consumers. In addition, an ancillary section of the farmers’ market contains crafters and food producers. FFMA, as the market's operator, coordinates with the vendors and the customers to create a positive and successful retail experience.
Under the direction of the Association Market Manager, the Assistant Market Manager ensures that the markets operate in compliance with state law, health codes and organizational rules, assists with logistical support and plans and participates in promotional activities, both at the market and at community outreach opportunities. The Assistant Market Manager also assists with office duties related to planning, record-keeping and correspondence for the market.
